Jolly new Weber Shandwick MD in senior reshuffle

Golin Harris Singapore managing director Baxter Jolly has been named MD of sister company Weber Shandwick, in a significant management reshuffle following Jeffery Schultz's resignation in late July.

Announced earlier this week, the move sees Jolly take up the leadership of the 40-strong team, while Dr Chitra Rajaram, formerly editor of daily newspaper Tamil Murasu, fills the MD vacancy at Golin Harris. Mike Liew has also been promoted internally at Golin Harris to executive director, where he will support Rajaram on a day-to-day basis, while continuing to serve as senior counsel to clients.

"Finding the right talent to support you in terms of achieving market leadership is going to be a big issue," said Jolly. He added that employee retention would also be a crucial component of the position, along with cultivating and developing young talent in the industry. According to the regional head of Weber Shandwick and Golin Harris, Andrew Pirie, Rajaram brings to the position a wealth of experience and contacts in the local market.

"There's an opportunity to bring the brand forward and raise the profile, and thereby increase the opportunities for the business here as well," said Pirie.
