One of the mainland’s top tourist draws, the iconic statues will be one of the main attractions at the healthcare giant’s Olympic Pavilion, along with a variety of high-tech exhibits and a 1,500sqm bamboo forest, trucked up to Beijing from Anji County in central China’s Zhejiang Province.
Johnson & Johnson’s relationship with the Terracotta Warriors dates back to 2000, when locally-based J&J subsidiary, Xian-Janssen Pharmaceutical Ltd. helped cure the pottery privates of a nasty fungal infection they picked up in the late ’90s.
We have long believed it is our responsibility to support and engage with the communities in which we live and work, and we hope to help draw attention to the Warriors to aid the Museum in its quest to preserve these historic wonders of Chinese history. As we announce this exciting element of our Olympic program, Johnson & Johnson stands proudly with the people of China to celebrate the country’s remarkable heritage, said Brian Perkins, corporate vice president, Johnson & Johnson.
