JCDecaux unveils personalised offer

HONG KONG - JCDecaux Pearl & Dean Hong Kong has unveiled a new "multi-dimensional" advertising format for OOH sites.

The new system uses interactive technology and wireless communications to connect with consumers in a retail environment, providing customised information on products or services. The system combines six forms of interactive technology through a wall-mounted panel, which features two video components, motion sensors, scent emitters, a Bluetooth wireless link and audio.

According to JCDecaux Pearl & Dean Hong Kong general manager Teresa Fung, the new system is aimed at capturing interest in a mass-market environment, and then providing a “personal shopping experience” one customer at a time.

The new system was demonstrated to Hong Kong’s marketing community. One demonstration showed how, with the insertion of a smart card by a consumer, the system can apply different kinds of cosmetics for a different look, display the changes on the screen, and download edited images to mobile phones via MMS, Bluetooth or email.
