Japanese cities push facilities construction

TOKYO Exhibition and conference facilities are under construction in four of Japan's cities to increase regional and international business into the country. In 2003, Niigata City, Fukuoka City and Sapporo City convention centres are to open and 2004 will see the opening of Sunport Takamatsu, seating 1,500 in its main hall, in Takamatsu City. Niigata will offer 31,000sqm of space, including a 7,800sqm exhibition hall. The Sapporo facility will provide a 3,000sqm convention hall for 2,500, and 24 conference room will be available in the Fukuoka centre.
