Japan dominates region in Cyber Lions category

CANNES - Japan picked up nine of the 12 Cyber Lions that were handed out to agencies in Asia-Pacific at the Cannes advertising festival, while Farfar Stockholm, R/GA New York and Ogilvy & Mather Toronto each bagged a Grand Prix.

The online advertising Grand Prix went to R/GA’s Nike Plus work, while the viral execution Grand Prix was awarded to Unilever’s ‘Evolution’ by Ogilvy Toronto.

Meanwhile, Farfar’s ‘Heidies 15 MB of fame’ work for Diesel took home the Grand Prix for best website. Among Japan’s winners, BBMedia Tokyo with a Shiseido campaign and GT Tokyo’s Microsoft ‘Big shadow’ digital work both brought home golds.

Other regional winners included Jonathan Yuen’s website with a bronze, Ogilvy Beijing’s WWF ‘Tiger email’ and Tequila\Australia’s Newline Cinema ‘Tenacious D in the pick of destiny’.
