Japan and Australia lead region's D&AD haul

Japan and Australia have emerged as Asia's best performing countries at the D&AD Awards show, held in London, winning seven of the eleven Pencils handed out to Asia-Pacific agencies. <BR><BR> Dentsu scored a Yellow Pencil for its work for Tokyo FM Broadcasting in the digital crafts/sound design category, while Bascule and Draft picked up Yellow Pencils in the online/primary brand website and packaging design/packaging categories respectively. Other Yellow Pencil winners from the region included Ogilvy & Mather (for GSK) and Saatchi & Saatchi (Greenpeace) from Singapore, along with Thailand's Euro RSCG Flagship 'Housewife' campaign (pictured) for 11 News 1 Channel. <BR><BR> From Australia, BMF, HOST/The Glue Society, HOST/The Glue Society/NetX and George Patterson Y&R all won Yellow Pencils, as did Whybin\TBWA from New Zealand. UK newspaper The Guardian and Leo Burnett Canada won the only two Black Pencils awarded at the show.
