Jaguar Australia moves account from JWT to Y&R

SYDNEY: Jaguar Australia has dropped J. Walter Thompson just months before the launch of two major advertising campaigns.

After three years with JWT, Jaguar has appointed Young & Rubicam Sydney to handle its business as part of a global realignment in its major markets.

Y&R will take over from May 1 - just prior to the launch of two new vehicles, the new S-Type R and new entry level model X-Type 2.0 litre V6.

Jaguar Australia's marketing manager, Liane McGrath, made the announcement late last month, highlighting the good work JWT had undertaken with Jaguar for the past three years.

McGrath said JWT contributed substantially to the successful launch of the S-Type and X-Type in the Australian market. That said, McGrath was clearly looking forward to the new partnership with Y&R, and to the major campaigns on the horizon.

"Jaguar is launching the new S-Type range of vehicles mid-year headlined by the exciting new S-Type R. In addition, a new entry-level model will be added to the X-Type range - the X-Type 2.0 Litre V6,

McGrath said.

"These new launches will give us an exciting start to our relationship with Y&R Sydney."
