Iris launches regional PR arm in Asia

ASIA-PACIFIC - Creative agency Iris has launched a regional PR arm, headed by newly appointed social strategist Allanjit Singh, who joins from Ogilvy Singapore.

Allanjit Singh will head Iris' new Asia-Pacific PR division

Based in Singapore, the new department will handle social strategy, community management and digital channel planning, in addition to traditional PR duties.

Commenting on the launch, Craig Mapleston, managing director of Iris Singapore, said, “We’ve built a PR model for consumers - moving the battleground from column inches to consumer interest; from public relations to public relationships."

In his new role, Singh will lead the regional team, spanning Iris’ offices in Jakarta, Sydney, Delhi and Beijing. Projects in the pipeline will include digital planning and PR support for the agency's clients.

The expansion builds on Iris' investment in the region over the past year. Last November, the agency launched its first office in Indonesia and earlier had announced a strategic a global strategic alliance with US media and marketing company Meredith.
