Mapleston has been with Bates141 for 10 years, leading its divisions in Indochina, Cambodia and Singapore in senior management, public relations and events positions. He assumes his new role in February and is further charged with strengthening the agency’s integrated practices.
According to iris, the appointment is in line with the agency’s regional expansion efforts.
Mapleston’s appointment follows similar hires by iris over the past few months, including Richard Bleasdale as regional CEO, joining from DDB Group Singapore/Rapp Collins Asia Pacific; board directors Andrew Dowling and Chris Martell, from Y&R Singapore and TBWATequila Singapore, respectively; and joint creative director Tom Ormes, from Y&R.
