KUALA LUMPUR: Charles Ireland is to take up the role of general manager of marketing for Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB) which markets and distributes Diageo's Tiger, Heineken and Guinness brands in Malaysia.
Ireland is joining from Diageo Philippines, where he was general manager, involved with the Heineken and Tiger export brands.
Marketing manager Yap Swee Leng has been acting general manager since the departure of previous general manager of marketing Denis Brown.
Brown left GAB at the beginning of last month to take up a sales director role at Diageo Australia, based in Sydney.
"My term at GAB was a challenging blast and we enjoyed plenty of success through Guinness direct, Tiger FC, new campaigns, and a significant market share gain," said Brown, who had been in the GAB role for two years.
