iPad receives green light from China government

BEIJING – iPad has received the go-ahead from the Chinese government following the approval of its China Compulsory Certificate (3C).

According to reports, Apple received the approved certification on 2 August. The manufacturer in China falls under Foxconn.

iPad is expected to enter the mainland market in September with the entry level model priced at US$515.

Apple iPhone 4 has also been awarded domestic network access permission.
