INTERNET: Penton launches Internet World Asia awards

<p>Penton Media has launched the Internet World Asia Industry Awards, </p><p>presented by Internet World magazine. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The event will be held in Singapore on March 2, and voting for the </p><p>awards took place on the Internet. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Five nominations for each of the 12 categories - including Internet </p><p>company of the year; Internet visionary of the year and ISP of the year </p><p>- formed the shortlist from which a panel of 20 of Asia's leading </p><p>Internet journalists, analysts and academics selected the winners. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Results will be announced at the gala dinner next month, which coincides </p><p>with the Internet World Asia @ Singapore show from March 1-3, produced </p><p>by Penton in association with Reed Exhibitions. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Asia's 'Net population is exploding, soon to surpass the US," said </p><p>Penton Asia-Pacific MD Michael Westcott. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"Venture capital is pouring in from around the world. People from North </p><p>America and Europe are suddenly turning to Asia not only for market </p><p>opportunities, but also to find the hottest design shops and </p><p>innovations." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Results will be posted at www.iwawards.com at midnight on March 2 and </p><p>winners will be eligible to put the Internet World Asia Awards official </p><p>winners' logo on their own websites. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
