INTERNET MEDIA: MTV launches Korean music portal website

<p>MTV Networks Asia has just launched a new Korean website </p><p>(www.mtvkorea.co.kr) in conjunction with Asiacontent.com. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>MTV Korea Online is a music portal site which includes more than 300,000 </p><p>music titles for streaming, and allows audiences access to music </p><p>information, to meet people who share common interests and to make use </p><p>of creative interactive features available on the site. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"The new site will offer advertisers an interactive medium complementing </p><p>MTV's Korean programming on m.net, and provide them with an unmatched </p><p>avenue for reaching the 15-34 year-old Korean demographic," said MTV </p><p>Korea general manager Soon Chul Kim. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>To commemorate the launch, MTV Korea Online is holding various online </p><p>promotions, including free gifts, instant lotteries and a cyber music </p><p>capsule to be opened in 2020. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>It is the third Internet site to be launched by the JV of MTV and </p><p>Asiacontent.com, following www.mtvasia.com and www.mtvchinese.com </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>In addition, MTV.com was voted best media site at the first MidemNet </p><p>Awards at Midem 2000 in Cannes, France. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The award follows the November launch of the enhanced MTV.com site, </p><p>which offers convergence experiences, original programming, streaming </p><p>audio and video, and a global navigation feature that connects music </p><p>fans across the world. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
