International agencies compete for global Luxottica brand

HONG KONG - Leo Burnett London, JWT New York, 180 Amsterdam and Sydney's Moon Design have pitched in Hong Kong for the global creative assignment to handle Italian group Luxottica's retail brand Sunglass Hut.

The pitch follows an initial phase in New York, which featured eight agencies. The four shortlisted contenders then attended a briefing in Milan before pitching creative in Hong Kong.

A source involved in the review noted that the company is looking to “bring the brand to life” across all its key touchpoints, which include retail, online and above the line. Billings for the assignment remain unclear.

The US-headquartered Sunglass Hut counts 1,500 stores across the world, and was acquired by Luxottica in 2001.
