Increased incentive group demand, particularly from Europe, is creating new business opportunities at the 158-room Amari Rincome Hotel in Chiang Mai.
According to general manager Mr Marc Dumur, efforts to attract incentive trade mirrored a wider desire in Thailand to tap into the sector.
"I have visited incentive houses and inbound operators in Bangkok. It is our aim to develop this sector," said Mr Dumur.
"We have done a few incentive trips in the past but it has been a small proportion of our total revenue," he said.
