The show drew more than 800 exhibiting companies and 7,303 exhibitors from 51 countries.
There were 35,565 trade visitors from 112 countries on trade days and 90,000 members of the
public at the weekend.
The event enjoyed an equal mix of defence and civil aviation exhibitors, with contracts worth
more than US$13 billion in sales of aircraft and related equipment, and US$2.6 billion for facilities and other services generated, the organisers claimed.
“We have tried to make this first Singapore Airshow the most efficient and convenient event
on the global airshow calendar,” said Jimmy Lau, managing director, Singapore Airshow and
Events, organisers of the show.
“Singapore Airshow has proven its value as a place to do business for the world’s major
manufacturers and suppliers.”
The 2008 edition drew the biggest attendance of government, military and industry delegations at any aviation trade event in Asia, with 240 delegations from 61 countries visiting during the four trade days. Among the industry leaders were 21 airline CEOs.
About 70% of exhibitors have confirmed bookings for the 2010 version.
