IMEX satisfied with strong Asia Pacific presence

FRANKFURT Organisers of the Frankfurt-based meetings and incentive show IMEX experienced a substantial Asia Pacific presence at the show from May 30 to June 1.

IMEX chairman Ray Bloom said: "We are very pleased with the participation from Asia Pacific. "There were nine new exhibitors this year, including Hong Kong and Macau (both of which were returning to IMEX). "Other new exhibitors included four Indian companies, Taipei International Convention Center and Kyoto Convention Bureau." Anumber of Asia Pacific exhibitors also increased their stand size including Australia, India, Indonesia, Korea and Malaysia. Overall the Asia Pacific region was 13 per cent larger at IMEX 2006. Bloom added that corporate and association buyers from the region were also well represented at IMEX 2006. He said: "Asia Pacific buyers who attended were largely from India, China, Australia, Thailand and Singapore. "We saw a large increase in buyers registering from India, which is a trend that we expect to grow in the future."
