The three HQ Link exhibition clusters acquired are the industrial series comprising PS/HVAC (Pumps, Valves, Compressors and Systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning) currently held in Singapore, China, Vietnam and India; the maritime series exhibitions in China, Vietnam
and Malaysia; and the annual Career & Education exhibition in Singapore.
The acquisition is part of IIR’s overall business strategy to expand into Asia.
Rosalind Ng, managing director (Asia) of IIR Exhibitions, said: “We are acquiring a complementary business which is well established and we expect to add value through our existing similar industry product lines across the region.”
Dilys Yong, president of HQ Link, said she would continue to serve as consultant to IIR for
“one or two years”, even as she focuses on corporate investments and private pursuits.
IIR Exhibitions is part of Informa, which produces more than 10,000 events and educational training courses.
