ICICI hands $26m brief to MindShare

NEW DELHI: Financial services group ICICI has awarded its US$26 million media planning and buying assignment to MindShare following a pitch that included Initiative Media and Starcom.

The account was previously handled by the media division of fellow WPP agency, Ogilvy & Mather.

The ICICI business is the latest is a series of wins by MindShare, which launched Indian operations at the start of the year. MindShare's earlier wins included the Hindustan Lever account, India's largest adspender, as well as the entire portfolio of PepsiCo and Ford.

MindShare won the ICICI business on the back of strategic and cost-effective solutions for India and internationally. A MindShare spokesperson said: "Amid stiff competition, we won the entire media planning and buying account of ICICI. ICICI's international business will operate across the United Arab Emirates, the US, UK and Singapore."

ICICI is a New York Stock Exchange-listed company providing a wide range of products and services to retail and corporate customers.

There was no change in the creative roster, which includes O&M on Prudential ICICI Mutual Fund and PruICICI Growth Plan Mutual Fund; Leo Burnett on credit cards; and Lowe on life insurance assignments.
