HP shortlists three for global TSG account

SINGAPORE - Hewlett Packard (HP) has shortlisted Omnicom Group, WPP and Havas for its global Technology Solutions Group (TSG) account, eliminating contenders Publicis and IPG.

TSG is the largest business segment of HP, accounting for 36 per cent of HP's 2007 revenue. It provides servers, storage, software and information technology services that enable enterprise and mid-market business customers to manage their current IT environments and transform them into a business enabler. The products and services from TSG serve HP's business customers of all sizes in more than 170 countries.

Seperately, HP has also kicked off a global media review for two of its other business groups, both currently handled by ZenithOptimedia.

According to industry insiders, the pitch has begun on a global level but will move to Asia-Pacific through a focus in Singapore.

The review includes the media business for HP's corporate, personal systems group, plus its image and printing group businesses. The value of the business is upward of $200 million.

ZenithOptimedia has been the company's global media agency of record since 2004, operating in 90 countries for the technology company, and will be repitching for the business.
