An audience of over 70 human resource and recruitment professionals
gathered together for the Dow Jones Recruitment Outlook Seminar at Hong
Kong's Dynasty Club. The event celebrated the launch of
CareerJournalAsia.com, the new pan-Asian career site for managers and
executives. The event was co sponsored by The Asian Wall Street Journal
and Far Eastern Economic Review.
The keynote speaker was Peter Weddle, a leading authority on human
resource development and recruitment. Other speakers included Russell
Yeomans, regional director of TMP eResourcing, Chris Plowman, regional
director of Bernard Hodes group and Robin Sears, President,
Asia-Pacific, Futurestep, a division of KornFerry International. The
panel discussion was moderated by David Plott, Managing Editor, Far
Eastern Economic Review, Peter Stein, Managing Editor, The Asian Wall
Street Journal and Tony Lee, General Manager and Editor-in-Chief,
CareerJournal.com
The theme; Recruitment Outlook 2001 sparked lively discussion over a
host of topics as varied as the importance of employer branding in
attracting human capital, the fundamentals of Internet based recruitment
and general recruitment trends in Asia.
