Hoppe joins Microsoft in new content role

SINGAPORE - Microsoft has hired Andrew Hoppe, former VP of content at MTV Asia-Pacific, as its first regional executive producer for MSN in Asia-Pacific.

In the newly-created role Hoppe will be responsible for expanding content across MSN’s online, video and mobile media portals, overseeing a team of in-house producers based in each Asia-Pacific market. Hoppe will also be working closely with Windows Live, a suite of internet services branded separately from MSN, such as the newly revamped Windows Live Hotmail.

Although Microsoft has regional executive producers in Europe and North America, Hoppe said he is the first in Asia. He was most recently VP of content at MTV Asia-Pacific, where he worked for eight years.
