Entertainment Expo, which is backed by the Trade Development Corporation (TDC), encompasses
eight events.
These include the three founding events of Hong
Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART),
Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) and Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA).
In addition there are five core events, Hong Kong -
Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Excellence Awards (DEEA), IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Award (IFPI), Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum (DELF) and Hong Kong Independent Short Film & Video Awards (ifva).
More than 400 exhibitors from 20 countries
and regions will participate in FILMART this
year.
The exhibitor number represents a 15 per cent
increase on 2005.
The highlights of FILMART, 'Digital Entertainment
Pavilion' and 'Audiovisual Equipment and Post-production Services Pavilion' will offer
overseas buyers an array of choices and services.
The TDC will provide business-matching services
to help industry professionals find potential
business partners during the Expo, while one-stop
consultation services will offer customised consultation on film production, marketing, licensing and legal matters.
As co-organisers of the Hong Kong — Asia Film
Financing Forum, the TDC and the Hong Kong,
Kowloon and New Territories Motion Picture
Association have selected 25 Asian film productions
to be presented at HAF.
Industries represented include Hong Kong, Taiwan,
Chinese mainland, Japan, Singapore, South
Korea, Thailand and Iran.
HAF will help these productions seek financing
and business opportunities in the form of
co-production, joint venture or investment.
