Hong Kong TDC announces two new trade fairs

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) is joining forces with local exhibition organisers and industry organisations to launch two new trade fairs in Hong Kong next month.

The Hong Kong International Auto Parts Fair and Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair will be held from April 8 to 11 at the new AsiaWorld-Expo. "This is a major catalyst for the TDC to expand the portfolio of Hong Kong's exhibition industry," said TDC assistant executive director Benjamin Chau. Chau warned that an additional 500,000 sqm of exhibition space will come on stream in 2007 in neighbouring cities, which are hungry for business. The decision to hold the new fairs was taken after extensive research and discussion with key players in the trade. The Auto Parts Fair is organised by the TDC in conjunction with its strategic partners, the Paper Communication Exhibition Services and the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association. Some 250 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions are taking part in the event, highlighting Hong Kong's importance as an international trading centre for auto parts and accessories. The Printing and Packaging Fair, co-organised by the TDC and CIEC Exhibition Company Ltd, offers opportunities for the industry to grow in the region and on the mainland. The two new fairs are part of the TDC's strategy for expanding Hong Kong's exhibition industry.
