The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra's campaign for Salome, the first presentation of a new format unfamiliar to local audiences (opera-in-concert), saw Eight Partnership seeking to leverage the original controversy created by the classic opera. TV, print and poster executions depicted a single drop of blood running down the centre of the visual, along with headlines taken direct from critical reviews of the original performance. Unlike conventional opera, the full orchestra and conductor accompany the singers on stage, a format popular in other metropolitan centres.
