HKCEC summer exhibition frenzy

HONG KONG Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) had accommodated a total of 24 exhibitions during July and August 2004, a 26 per cent increase from the 19 exhibitions held in Summer 2003.

Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) had accommodated a total of 24 exhibitions during July and August 2004, a 26 per cent increase from the 19 exhibitions held in Summer 2003. HKCEC said 10 out of the 24 exhibitions showed an increase in total exhibition area. For example, Hong Kong Book Fair 2004 had recorded a 25 per cent increase in space occupied, compared with last year. Total exhibition area utilised in the two months also increased from 1,084,424sqm last summer to 1,094,795sqm in 2004. Total attendance grew by 6 per cent to 1,668,312. Six new hall-sized public exhibitions had selected HKCEC as their venue of choice. A total of 1,890 events were held at the HKCEC from July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2004.
