HK4As launches first interactive awards contest

The Hong Kong 4As has unveiled its first Interactive & Direct Awards, with winners to be announced in late September.

The awards will have two separate streams for interactive and direct marketing, and will see a range of categories recognised. The interactive awards will recognise websites, online advertising, email, wireless and viral, with entries judged on the excellence of creative ideas, design, user experience and execution. The direct awards, meanwhile, comprise of flat mailing, 3-D mailing, direct response print and broadcast, alternative media and field marketing, and will see entries judged on criteria of innovation, effectiveness, copy and art direction. In addition, a best of show will also be awarded by a judging panel that is chaired by Andy Pontin, managing director of M&C Saatchi -- Direct, Digital & Design Australia, and includes MRM Partners creative director Glenn Bartlett and British Airways marketing manager Choi Fong. "With the evolving nature of marketing, it only made sense that this year we would expand the awards to include the best interactive and direct work in Hong Kong," said Sean Rach, chairman of the HK4As interactive committee and general manager at Ogilvy One.
