HK tourism hires Clark to develop Pacific arrivals

HONG KONG: The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has appointed Andrew Clark as regional director of Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, with special responsibility to lead and develop marketing strategies in those countries.

Clark, who has 15 years in the tourism industry experience in Asia and Australia, was previously general manager, marketing, of the Northern Territory Tourist Commission of Australia. He has also held senior positions with Tourism New South Wales, based in Singapore.

Clark succeeds James Hall, who has been with the HKTB since 1998. Hall helped increase arrivals from Australia and the South Pacific by five per cent to 370,289 in the first 11 months of last year through a range of marketing initiatives to strengthen Hong Kong's position as a preferred travel destination.
