“It’s a name that now reflects what we’ve been preaching and practicing,” said Ray Rudowski (pictured), the regional director for the unit.
He added that the agency found it necessarily to highlight its crisis planning and training aspects given the current economic downturn because, “there’s no industry or business not affected by this.”
Rudowski said Hill & Knowlton began its crisis practice after September 11, 2001 and expanded it to include a pandemic unit in 2003 following the regional avian flu outbreak.
Although Rudowski was unable to disclose current clients who have enlisted the services of the Crisis Planning and Communication Training unit, he said several are working with the division from the oil and gas, construction and contracting and financial services sectors.
