H&K hires Singapore MP to co-head public affairs practice

SINGAPORE - Hill & Knowlton has appointed Singapore Member of Parliament (MP) for Tanjong Pagar GRC, Baey Yam Keng (pictured), as account director for its public affairs practice in Singapore.

Baey joined from property giant CapitaLand where he headed its corporate marketing and CSR. Prior to that, the local MP held appointments at the Economic Development Board and the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts.

Baey joins former Straits Time editor, Koh Buck Song, to head H&K Singapore’s public affairs practice.

Chief executive, Southeast Asia and SVP Asia-Pacific for Hill & Knowlton, Jimmy Tay, commented that Baey was appointed for his “strength in knowing how the public sector works” and “to bring extra insights”.

Former Straits Times and Business Times correspondent and head of corporate communications for GuocoLand, Loh Hui Yin, has also been appointed as account director to lend support to H&K Singapore’s corporate and financial services clients.
