HK digital shop signs on Ogilvy for Asia rollout

HONG KONG: Digital media agency start-up VivAsia will roll out a permission-based marketing service in three markets before the end of the first quarter.

VivAsia's chief marketing officer, Ulrik von Luttichau, said OgilvyInteractive had signed up to use the V-Flash service to highlight its clients' campaigns and promotions directly to the computer terminals of VivAsia's database of consumers.

A second agreement, with Modem Media, was in the pipeline at press-time.

The independent media agency start-up plans to launch operations in Hong Kong by Chinese New Year, followed within weeks by Singapore and Shanghai, said von Luttichau, adding that response to the service had been strong.

"Technology-wise, it's not very new in the US, where large corporations like IBM, Coca-Cola and NBC have used it."
