Hitachi Hong Kong bets on magic in HD battle

HONG KONG - Hitachi Hong Kong has added its name to the list of companies looking to establish a foothold in the coming high-definition television battle ahead of the government's conversion to the HD format.

Hitachi has launched the first phase of the campaign, which revolves around their HD LCD television and their plasma flat panel products.

Key players Sony, Philips, Sharp and Samsung have been stepping up their activity, according to ADK chief operating officer, Larry Yip. “The objective of the campaign is to make sure that consumers are well prepared for the HD TV viewing era,” he said.

The creative theme of the campaign, which is running on terrestrial television and print, focuses on professional acrobats in action communicating a “magical and surreal” atmosphere.
