Hero Honda taps Maximize to hit India sales goal

NEW DELHI: Vehicle manufacturer Hero Honda has consolidated its media assignment with roster agency Maximize as it prepares to achieve higher growth targets set for this year.

"Last year, Hero Honda became the world's largest two-wheel vehicle manufacturer and it has set higher targets this year," said Andre Nair, chief executive officer of the WPP media company for South Asia. Maximize and Carat India had worked on the account last year. Maximize valued the account at US$20 million. "The work we did last year on strategy planning and us leveraging our scale in India to deliver cost-efficiencies and rates was something Hero Honda wanted for all its brands to aid it in hitting the higher growth targets," Nair added. The joint-venture between India's Hero Group and Japan's Honda sold about 12.6 million vehicles from its Passion, Splendor and CBZ brands last year.

The company has retained its creative briefs with J. Walter Thompson, Percept Advertising and Publicis.
