Hennessy takes first online step with CNN link-up

ASIA-PACIFIC: Luxury brand Hennessy VSOP is making its first major foray into web advertising, as part of an integrated deal which includes an on-the-ground promotion created around CNN and HBO programming.

The LVMH brand is sponsoring CNN.com's entertainment page for its 'Discover another side' campaign, which pays tribute to the spirit of discovery and highlights the complex personalities of Hennessy's consumers.

At the same time, CNN and HBO Asia have teamed up to launch a microsite of HBO's award-winning show Sex and the City. The microsite is linked to CNN.com's entertainment page as well as HBO's Asia site.

The two partners have also organised The Hennessy VSOP Asia Tour, with themed parties in Hong Kong and Taipei this month, which draws on the HBO show as well as CNN's newly-launched weekly music programme The Music Room, sponsored by Toyota.

LVMH Wines & Spirits Asia-Pacific regional brand manager, Ruby Tang, said: "We feel that both of the shows are in step with today's lifestyle and it speaks the language of today's consumer."
