Heineken selects McCann in Thailand

BANGKOK - Asia Pacific Breweries has awarded a marketing brief for its Heineken brand to McCann Worldgroup in Thailand following a lengthy pitch with Leo Burnett, JWT and Index.

The IPG group's experiential marketing specialist Momentum led the two-month review, and has been briefed to boost the Dutch beer brand's associations with music in a market where above-the-line advertising of alcohol brands is restricted.

The assignment involves event activation, digital and some advertising.

However, Leo Burnett position as Heineken's agency-of-record in Thailand is unaffected by the review.

The pitch was unrelated to APB's current review of the Dutch beer brand in Singapore (Media 8 May), an account held by Bates141.
