Heimowitz takes on new H&K role of North Asia CEO

Hill & Knowlton has recruited James Heimowitz to fill the newly-created role of president and chief executive officer of its North Asia operation.

Heimowitz believes the appointment is a reflection of the need to separate the North Asia and South Asia regions. "Management was being pulled in various different directions," said Heimowitz. "This reflects an increasing commitment that the markets, particularly China and North Asia require someone on the ground with strategic managerial experience." Heimowitz, who will be based in Hong Kong, joins from his previous position as president of JBH Consulting, a New York outfit that specialised in Asia market access and strategic positioning for corporations and governments. He said that the agency would soon announce a raft of new hires. Heimowitz, who started with H&K Singapore 20 years ago, also noted that the increasing integration of the region made the North Asia position necessary to cover the markets of China, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.
