HEADLINES: Star TV and Koos upgrade Taiwan's digital offer
<p>Taiwan's cable TV systems are to become digital, following a deal </p><p>between the Star TV network and multi-faceted business giant the Koos </p><p>Group. New digital set-top boxes will allow cable subscribers to receive </p><p>interactive content, including e-commerce, as well as enhanced picture </p><p>quality and features like a Chinese electronic programming guide. The </p><p>services are expected to launch in early 2002. Taiwan currently has 80 </p><p>per cent cable TV penetration. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
