Standard Chartered Bank has put its media business up for pitch.
Sources said the brief initially focused on Hong Kong and agencies'
cost-effective media-buying abilities. Zenith, MindShare and OMD are the
three agencies fighting for the account. Standard Chartered recently
realigned its global creative account with J. Walter Thompson, leaving
FCB and Leo Burnett out in the cold. FCB also used to handle media
planning and buying for the bank. Hong Kong is the bank's main market,
commanding about half of its total global marketing communications
budget.
