HEADLINES: Slower adspend tipped for Japan

<p>Dentsu has forecast a slower growth rate of 4.3 per cent to Y4,140 </p><p>billion (about USdollars 35.8 billion) in advertising expenditure for </p><p>Japan's four major media this year. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Last year, adspend in newspapers, magazines and television and radio </p><p>stations jumped 7.7 per cent to Y3,970 billion. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Taking all media into consideration, adspend in the country jumped 7.2 </p><p>per cent last year to a record high of Y6,110 billion (about USdollars </p><p>52.74 billion). It was one of the highest year-on-year increases in </p><p>recent years and it was the first time adspend increased since 1997. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
