HEADLINES: Onida account split between Rediffusion, Lemon

Mirc Electronics, manufacturers of the Onida brand of consumer durables, has split its advertising account between Rediffusion DY&R, a WPP group agency which will handle consumer electronics, including televisions and audio systems, and Lemon Communications, a Euro RSCG agency, which will handle washing machines, air conditioners and the low-cost Igo TV brand. The brands used to be handled by Ogilvy & Mather and McCann-Erickson, but the pitch was called after both those agencies signed on with competitor LG Electronics.
