HEADLINES: MTV's channel for 'graduates' makes Asian debut

Music television channel VH1 will debut in Asia this month with a 24-hour channel in Thailand on UBC's Channel 50 and daily programme belts on MTV Southeast Asia and MTV Philippines. Targeting the 25 to 44 age group, it will offer studio performances, documentaries on music icons and archive recordings. Richard Cunningham, senior vice-president, network development, MTV Networks Asia, said VH1 would appeal to a more sophisticated audience.
