Interpublic is reported to have started discussions to buy out True
North Communications.
The news comes following a protracted period of speculation over whether
Havas Advertising would table a deal for True North, said to be in the
region of USdollars 1.5 billion.
True North has been looking to link with another global advertising and
communications group since losing its key client DaimlerChrysler, which
wiped out USdollars 140 million in revenue for the company and forced it
to shed 150 staff.
