Alexander Brown, who helped launch the ESPN brand in Asia, has been named president and chief executive officer of CNBC Asia-Pacific. He was most recently the president and COO of Virtual Spectator, a New York-based 3-D animation technology company. With more than 15 years' experience in the media industry, Brown has spent nine years in the region, initially as managing director of ESPN Asia.
