CNBC Asia-Pacific and GE Equity have acquired a stake in TV Tokyo, marking the first time a US TV network has made an investment in a major Japanese broadcasting company. CNBC will invest close to US$15 million, and will become the provider of choice for business news to TV Tokyo and its affiliates. Concurrently, TV Tokyo will take a stake in Nikkei-CNBC.
