HEADLINES: China opens cable TV door to outsiders
<p>China is considering allowing foreign companies to invest in the </p><p>country's cable television industry, according to a report in the </p><p>People's Daily Overseas Edition. Foreign investors are currently barred </p><p>from participating in China's burgeoning and lucrative cable TV arena, </p><p>but it is understood that new rules are being drawn up to open the door. </p><p>According to the report, the state council will approve the rules by the </p><p>end of this year, and submit them for lawmarker's consideration in 2001. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
