HEADLINES: Burnett wins two major accounts
<p>High-performance computing technology company SGI has named Leo </p><p>Burnett as its advertising agency for Asia-Pacific. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The appointment is seen as significant because McCann-Erickson is SGI's </p><p>worldwide agency for creative and media. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Meanwhile, Burnett Taiwan has won the Chung Hwa Telecom account </p><p>following a five-way pitch. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>This is the first time Chung Hwa has appointed an international agency </p><p>to handle its advertising brief. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Chung Hwa is Taiwan's oldest telecom company, and Burnett's task is to </p><p>rejuvenate the brand in the face of stiffening competition following the </p><p>1997 deregulation of the island's rapidly-growing telecommunications </p><p>market. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
