Headline: TVB profits climb 40pc in first six months of 2004

Hong Kong terrrestrial station Television Broadcasts has reported a 40 per cent profit rise to HK$217.5 million (US$27.9m) for the first six months of the year compared with $155m last year, despite losses at Galaxy Satellite Broadcasting, the pay-TV start-up in which it has a 49 per cent share.
