Headline: Mars looks at independent entrance into market
After an aborted attempt at acquiring Nutrine, the US$14.5 billion food giant Mars is looking to make an independent entry into India. While Mars is still not averse to acquisitions, it will set up its own manufacturing facility to enter the confectionery segment as not many national-level brands are up for grabs. Mars is also looking at consolidating its flagship brands Mars, Twix, Snickers and Bounty by importing them through Effem India.
