The French marketing services group, which is controlled by businessman Vincent Bollore, witnessed a 4.2 per cent rise in revenues to US$924 million (€729 million).
The net income figure includes the group's share of profits and losses from its subsidiaries.
The revenue rise was partly driven by a weaker euro and organic growth came in lower at 1.8 per cent year on year.
First half organic growth for Asia-Pacific was mixed with good growth in China, India and Singapore, contrasting with declines in Thailand, Indonesia and Australia. The UK was up 1.7 per cent, while the rest of Europe including France suffered negative organic growth. The US was up 4.9 per cent and Latin America was up 25.2 per cent.
At a global level Havas said it has won US$1.52 billion (€1.2 billion) of net new business in the first half of 2010, which is roughly the amount it won in the whole of 2009. Highlights include the addition of Euro RSCG to the global Unilever digital roster and MPG Shanghai winning Kia for China.
Digital business accounted for 17 per cent of Havas' total revenue, compared with 16 per cent in the same period last year. A strategic win in digital includes KFC for China.
