Havas' MPG confirms Asia-Pacific rollout

Havas has confirmed the launch of MPG, the global media network of Havas Media, in Asia-Pacific in January next year. The move comes on the heels of Euro RSCG terminating its media planning and buying joint venture with MindShare - Motivator.

Vishnu Mohan (pictured) has been named chief executive of MPG Asia Pacific, based in Singapore.

There are plans for MPG to be rolled out in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea and Taiwan, while the Motivator brand will continue to service Group M clients in Australia and India.

"There are many ways that we can compete in the market against GroupM and Omnicom agencies. There are value angles such as consulting advice, strategic thinking, new tools that can affect decisions on planning," said Mohan.

"MPG is well established internationally and we will bring that expertise to the markets here."
